TEDOM is increasing production capacity at the Jablonec production plant

calendar 24.08.2022
Since September, the parts machining plant in Jablonec nad Nisou will switch to a three-shift operation which should ensure faster delivery of parts to the entire company of Tedom, thus greater independence from external suppliers. And this is not the only innovation on the road to greater efficiency of the Jablonec site.

During the full-time holiday, the implementation of new CNC machines from DMG MORI took place. The HEC 500 machine was moved to another location and a brand new five-axis DMC 80 U duoBLOCK milling machine equipped with a palletizer was added, as well as the new CTX 2500/700 lathe with a bar stock feeder. Both machines were immediately integrated into the production process. The last machine to be installed early next year is the HEC 800.

“In autumn this year, production should become more stable, and we will gradually machine parts that we have had to outsource so far. This will give us greater flexibility and at the same time we will be able to reduce the price of parts and therefore the price of engines and assemblies,” explains Ondřej Oplt, production manager at the Jablonec production plant.

The maintenance staff in Jablonec got down to more detailed tasks and repairs of the machines, which are not accessible during the production season. Dusty construction work was carried out as well to prepare the new floors and there was also some refurbishment of the facilities for the employees.
