TEDOM has delivered its first CHP unit to Greece

calendar 15.05.2026

The project, completed together with our long-term Bulgarian partner CHIME and their Greek partner ORKA S.A., brings efficient cogeneration technology to the municipal swimming pool in Pavlos Mela near Thessaloniki.

Originally operating only during summer months, the facility is now being transformed for year-round use, creating significantly higher demands for heat and electricity.

To support this transition, the municipality invested in a comprehensive energy modernization project including:

• TEDOM Cento 100 CHP unit
• 650 kWth natural gas boiler
• LED lighting upgrade
• Building Energy Management System (BEMS)

The CHP unit will cover the base thermal load for pool heating, space heating, and domestic hot water production, while generated electricity will be consumed directly on site. CHIME provides regular service and maintenance for this CHP unit.

The result:

Lower operating costs, reduced emissions, higher energy efficiency, and more reliable operation of the entire facility, even independent of grid electricity availability.

For TEDOM, this project also marks an important milestone: our first CHP installation in Greece and another step in expanding efficient decentralized energy solutions across Europe.

Thank you to CHIME and ORKA S.A. for the excellent cooperation.
