WALTHAM, Mass. \u2013 November 17, 2016 \u2013\u00a0EuroSite Power Inc., (OTCQX: EUSP) an On-Site Utility solutions provider, offering clean electricity, heat, hot water and cooling solutions to healthcare, hospitality, housing and leisure centers in the United Kingdom (UK) and Europe, has been selected as a finalist in the Builder & Engineer Awards 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Now in its thirteenth year, the Builder & Engineer Awards is one of the largest and most established awards programs in the UK construction sector, aiming to celebrate the industry\u2019s best products, projects, companies and individuals. The awards are judged by an independent panel of industry leaders and are organized by Builder & Engineer Magazine \u2013 a leading UK national magazine title which circulates to 30,000 construction professionals.<\/p>

EuroSite Power has been shortlisted in this year\u2019s awards for Sustainable Project of the Year in relation to the On-Site Utility solution provided to Flitwick Leisure Centre.<\/p>

Completed in spring 2016, Flitwick Leisure Centre is operated by Stevenage Leisure Limited for Central Bedfordshire Council, who developed the building to replace the town\u2019s aged previous facility. Towards the final stage of construction, both Stevenage Leisure and the Council were looking for a solution to meet the Target CO2 Emissions Rate (TER) defined by Part L2A of the Building Regulations 2010 in England and Wales.<\/p>

It subsequently became the first new build project in the UK to sign a CHP (Combined Heat & Power) contract with EuroSite Power, which meant CO2 related building regulations could be met, with zero capital outlay, while guaranteed, on-going savings would be delivered by the equipment installed.<\/p>

Under the terms of a 15 year On-Site Utility agreement, EuroSite Power provided a 100kW TEDOM CHP system at the leisure center, with all capital, maintenance and operation costs covered. Having avoided all such costs, Flitwick Leisure Centre is now simply buying the efficient energy produced by the system from EuroSite Power at a rate guaranteed to be lower than if the center bought electricity in the traditional manner or used conventional boilers to produce its heat and hot water.<\/p>

In delivering a CHP system in this way, EuroSite Power is helping both the end user and Central Bedfordshire Council, to achieve the Target CO2 Emissions Rate (TER) defined by Part L2A of the Building Regulations 2010 in England and Wales. These regulations specifically require building designers to consider the technical, environmental and economic feasibility of using high-efficiency alternative heating systems, including CHP, as part of their design in order to meet the TER.<\/p>

As well as ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations in relation to energy efficiency at the time of installation, the On-Site Utility solution provides full compliance as well as guaranteed savings for the customer throughout the 15 year term of the contract. It also reduced build cost as EuroSite funded the CHP solution.<\/p>
